a yummy family recipe that you can drop in the crockpot before work and enjoy for dinner plus leftovers!
This recipe is sugar-free flour-free. It contains no sugar no flour and low carbohydrates.
4-6 garlic cloves, chopped finely
1 lb chicken breasts or tenders, uncooked
1/2 cup rice (wild,brown or white), uncooked
2 cups water
1/4 C or Juice of 1 lemon
Salt/pepper to taste
Lemon slices, opt
Slivered almonds, opt.
Chop up garlic cloves and drop into crockpot. Add chicken on top. Drop in uncooked rice (I used a wild rice blend). Mix fresh lemon juice with water and stir into pot. Add seasoning to your liking and stir well. Cook on low for 8 hrs or high for 4. Serve with lemon slices and/or slivered almonds to your taste.
To keep it easy, serve with frozen vegetables like green beans or carrots, and a lettuce, cucumber, tomato and onion salad.
